 January 30, 2009  Tyson Interview with Destin.com
Posted by Sarrah in Article, Interview, Tyson | Comment

Tyson did an interview with Destin.com, they talked about his adopted hometown, Destin, FL, and the new record. Check it out.

DESTIN, FL – Tyson Ritter, frontman for the rock band All-American Rejects, couldn’t say enough nice things about his adopted hometown during an interview last week.

“We love Destin,” he said. “I may be from Oklahoma, but Destin is home to me.”

The 24-year-old and the rest of the band – Nick Wheeler, Mike Kennerty and Chris Gaylor – hail from Stillwater, Okla.

That all changed about five years ago.

“How did we discover Destin? That’s a good question,” Ritter said. “We were flying on Thanksgiving break, or a little bit before it, on a Delta flight. I was flipping through a magazine and see an article that says ‘Florida’s New Hot Destination.’ What a sweet play on words.

“About that time, Nick and I were pretty tired of our hometown. You know, it just gets smaller and smaller, it seems, the longer you stay after high school.

“We saw the beautiful sandy beach. And, Destin, we were like, wow, I put my foot down and it squeaks. We’ll stay here forever.”

Posted by Sarrah in Article | Comment

Kelly Clarkson picked ‘Gives You Hell’ as her favorite song at the moment!
Taken from her official blog:

“THANK YOU!!!!! THANK Y’ALL SO MUCH FOR REQUESTING AND VOTING FOR MY NEW SINGLE!!! IT’S DOING SO GREAT BECAUSE OF Y’ALL SO THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

“My personal favorite song at the moment (and partly do [sic] to my sister because she NEVER stops listening to it) is ‘Gives You Hell’ by the All-American Rejects! Great, great song! If you’re living under a rock and haven’t heard it yet then go and download it, it’s awesome!

“I’m about to start rehearsing the new record with the band and my first performance of ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’ will be in the Bahamas …..so not too bad, very excited about that! ….So is the band ha! Just saw the final cut of my video which y’all will be seeing soon and it’s super cute! You ladies will love the leading man, Houston, and all you fellas out there ….well, y’all are stuck with me ha! just kidding

“Finished the Twilight books (so did my mom and sister) and we cannot wait for the next movie New Moon. Do not judge us, we cannot help ourselves. Now my sister and I are going to read a classic ‘The Divine Comedy’. Although, it’s a classic it doesn’t have Edward Cullen in it so I pray it holds my attention ha! peace out, kelly.”

Wow. Random.
She definitely should be a member of AAR Street Team since she’s helping the guys by promoting the song haha.

NEW YORK (Billboard) – Amid a static top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, Lady GaGa’s Grammy-nominated tune “Just Dance” led the field for a third week.

Also staying put at Nos. 2-5 were Beyonce’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” Kanye West’s “Heartless,” T.I.’s “Live Your Life” featuring Rihanna and Taylor Swift’s “Love Story.”

The All-American Rejects’ “Gives You Hell” jumped four places to No. 6, while Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” held at No. 7 and Katy Perry’s “Hot N Cold” fell two to No. 8.

Kevin Rudolf’s “Let It Rock” featuring Lil Wayne slipped one to No. 9, and Britney Spears’ “Circus” rose one to No. 10.

Eminem’s “Crack a Bottle” featuring Dr. Dre and 50 Cent was the top debut at No. 78, marking the rapper’s first appearance on the Hot 100 since “You Don’t Know” peaked at No. 12 in December 2006. Dr. Dre’s absence has been even longer; he last charted as a guest on Eminem’s “Encore” in January 2005.

Tyson took some pictures from the stage. There’s an interview about his photography and the Make-A-Wish foundation!

Tyson Ritter, lead vocalist and bass guitarist of The All American Rejects, knew little about digital cameras before picking up the Nikon D60?and he liked it that way. A student of traditional photography methods, Ritter favored loading film in a camera to inserting a memory card. After two months of shooting with the D60 he began to appreciate the advantages of working with digital. In addition, handling the professional-grade D60 has given him a greater respect for the many photographers he encounters in his music life.

Ritter shoots for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a cause close to his heart. Through its wide-ranging, wish-granting network, Make-A-Wish endeavors to enrich the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions. Ritter’s first encounter with the organization came when the band was called upon to grant the wish of Jared, a young fan suffering from a rare degenerative disease. There’s a happy ending to this story. Since the night Jared watched his favorite band perform at the legendary Troubadour club in West Hollywood, his disease has been in remission.

Take a look at it! Very touching.

Quote of the Month

The dumbest thing is when fans get so nervous that they treat you like s***. I'm so fascinated by it. I'll be like, "Did ya enjoy the show?" and they'll be like, "Eh." They figure everyone is adoring you, so they'll take the opposite approach. At the very end, they're bummed that they acted the way they did, and it breaks my heart.” - Tyson Ritter
